It's Been Said...

"But a Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever." — John Adams

"It is seldom that liberty of any kind is lost all at once." — DavidHume

"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and success of liberty." — JohnF. Kennedy

I am very interested in hearing the views of our armed services veterans with regard to what is widely perceived as an erosion of our civil liberties and a move toward a more autocratic, authoritarian government in this country. This perception is not a vague suspicion, but is based on actions and legal measures adopted by the Bush Administration, such as the recently signed Military Commissions bill. Your comments on this matter are greatly appreciated. I need to know whether or not veterans believe that this is what they are fighting to protect. Thank you.
